Rivers United shirt sponsor ‘Eunisell’ considers pull out

Rivers United shirt sponsors Eunisell Chemicals may consider withdrawing from the Port Harcourt club on the back of an underwhelming show in the on-going Aiteo Cup group stage.

Rivers United lost all three group games in Lagos.

An official of Eunisell, who have been supporting Rivers United for the past four seasons, Said: “We came with high expectations, but to be honest we left disappointed with not only the result but most importantly the quality of football played by our team.”

Another Eunisell staff, who claimed to be a lover of football, said the quality of football played by Rivers United would not attract the fans to the stadium thereby not giving his employers the desired exposure.

Yet another staff added: “I personally think a change in the technical crew is needed for this team to play the quality of football that would attract fans and give us the desired exposure we seek by this partnership.”

The Eunisell officials at the Rivers United last group game against Abia Warriors went on to say they would need to communicate the event of the AITEO Cup match to the company’s management who would have to make a decision whether or not to keep backing the team.
