Some stakeholders in the state have called for the adoption of the electronic voting system in Nigeria as a way of
ensuring violent-free elections in the country.

A Public affairs analyst Chike Chinwo stated that the country should adopt the electronic voting system as it is done in other countries around the world so as to mitigate against the issue of electoral violence.

Mr Chinwo noted that with the inclusion of the electronic voting system in the nations electoral process, issues of thuggery, violence, ballot box snatching, voters intimidation and other forms of corruption that have characterized the electoral process will be a thing of the past.

Also commenting, a human right advocate, Higher King maintained that although the level of technological advancement is not high in the country, with the help of the international community, Nigeria can successfully embark and succeed if it wishes to adopt the electronic voting system
