Mba Boy: Festival of joy rocks Ebubu Eleme as peace returns to the area

In what seemed like christmas in July, residents and indigenes of Ebubu in Eleme Local Government have expressed their joy at the restoration of peace and order in the area. The residents who spoke to theporcitynews.com said that before now, they lived in fear due to the criminal activities of the dead cultist, Joe Mba, aka Mba Boy.

A resident who identified himself simply as John, told theportcitynews that they now sleep with their two eyes closed since the shooting to death of the dreaded cultist in Owerri last week.

He noted that prior to that, people were running away in droves from the community leading to a decline in economic activities. He added that although some of the dread cultist’s lieutenants are hiding in the community, they have laid low as the head of the snake and neck has been cut.

Another resident, Victoria, stated that for the first time in several months, people are feeling free in the community without the fear of being killed or women being raped.

She stated that there is joy in their hearts and songs on their lips, saying that it feels like christmas in July.

Recall that theportcitynews reported of the killing of the notorious cultist by soldiers in Owerri. He was prior to that, declared wanted by the Rivers State Police Command for the spate of killings, robberies and kidnapping in the area
