Youths in Rivers State and beyond have been urged to give proper attention and pay ultimate care to their oral health to ensure a healthier lifestyle.
Community Service project Director ROTARY Club, Victor Washington, stated this during the oral health care project initiative at Township model primary school, Moscow road Port Harcourt.
He stressed that young people suffer from tooth decay, as a result of improper care to their oral health, adding that early education on tooth management helps to prevent disease-causing germs.
He further urged youths in the state to rechannel their mind-set to positive actions that will be of benefit to their various communities.
“It’s high time youths begin to involve themselves in productive and meaningful things that will improve the stat and join organisations such as this. We Rotaract are mostly youths who in one way or the other create great impacts on our society. Youths should not only be known for committing crimes and be used as political thugs”
He also appealed to the state government to partner with organizations in carrying out extra-curricular activities to help broaden the knowledge of school children and youths in the society.
Some children who benefited from the oral health care initiative sensitization thanked the Rotary club for teaching them how to brush their teeth and for giving them new toothbrushes each.
