Court jails two for stealing goat

A Port Harcourt Magistrate has on Monday, jailed one Mr. Iyiagba and his accomplice, Idaba Ekpe for stealing.

Mr. Iyiagba, it was said, connived with Idaba and stole a she-goat belonging to a widow, Mrs. Florence Olege.

According to the Police Officer who charged the matter to court, Innocent Okor, a sergeant, the culprits were arrested in January while on their way to the market where they had arranged for the goat to be sold.

The Police Officer also said that the duo had initially denied stealing the goat when accosted but later recounted upon interrogation.

However, in her ruling, the presiding magistrate , Judith Nwaiwu, sentenced the duo to 2 years imprisonment for the offence.
