APC stakeholders call on party to expel Abe and supporters.

There was anger in certain APC camps on Monday as party faithfuls called for the expulsion of the Senator representing Rivers East Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Magnus Abe.

They also called for the expulsion of the Senator’s supporters across the 23 local government areas of the state.

The call was necessitated by what the faithfuls termed the anti-party affairs by the Senator Magnus Abe’s faction of the party.

They said that the Senator’s constant association with the Rivers State Governor shows that he is not loyal to the leadership of the party in the state.

Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike had on sunday, attended the child dedication ceremony of an APC chieftain, Marcus Nle-Ejji, in Portharcourt.

The Governor who reiterated his call on Rivers politicians to promote the interest of the state ahead of all political considerations, also advised politicians not to allow their political affiliation compel them to take actions that will negate the development of the state.

He said that despite being a prominent member of the PDP, he has continued to relate with friends in all other parties because of the need to build a framework of peace across the state.

At the event were top APC representatives that include, Chidi Winioka; member representing Ikwerre/Emuoha federal constituency, Barry Mpigi; Member representing Eleme/Tai federal constituency, Senator Magnus Abe and other dignitaries.

However, some of the APC stakeholders in the state said that there is more to Abe’s faction of party association with the Governor and urged the leadership of the party to expel the Senator and his supporters.
