I Loved Watching Deco…. Cech

Arsenal FC number one goalkeeper, Peter Cech has said that among all the players he played with during his time at chelsea, he enjoyed watching Deco. In an interview with the Arsenal matchday programme, the Chelsea FC former goalkeeper picked out one player above the rest when asked who he most enjoyed watching.

‘At Chelsea I played with so many fantastic players, so to choose one is very hard,’ he said. ‘But one player I did love to watch was Deco.

‘It was absolutely amazing to watch him play and train with such ease and class. He could do anything you imagined with a football and it was fantastic.’

Deco spent only two years with the Blues after joining the London side from Barcelona and showed fleeting glimpses of his quality on the pitch, most notably with a stunning debut goal against Portsmouth and an acrobatic volley against Bolton Wanderers.

However, he was an understated member of the club’s Double-winning squad in 2009/10, with his ability to maintain possession a crucial factor in some of our biggest wins that season.
